The Smith family is coming back for more animated shenanigans very soon. TBS has announced that American Dad! is returning with new episodes on April 13. This year is rather significant as it marks the 15th anniversary of Seth MacFarlane's long-running hit animated comedy. The network has released a brief teaser previewing the new episodes, as well as revealing some of the guest stars who will lend their voices to the show this year, including Grammy-winner The Weeknd.

The brief teaser released sees Stan, Hayley, Steve, Francine and Roger in Columbia, for reasons that have yet to be revealed. Hayley wonders why her dad knows so much about the country, and Stan reveals that the country helped turn him into the CIA agent we know him as. Also, as fans may recall back in season 5, the episode A Jones for a Smith saw Stan head to Columbia when his crack addiction peaked in spectacular disastrous fashion. With any luck, we might get a reference or two to that period of Stan's life.

Season 16 will also feature a host of cameos. One of the new episodes, which is set to air on Monday, May 4, will feature a new song by The Weeknd, who also co-wrote the episode and will also appear as himself. Other guest stars this season include Jane Lynch, Patton Oswalt, Ron Perlman, Craig Robinson, Criss Angel, and Bill Nye. On September 14 American Dad will air its milestone 300th episode, a landmark few animated shows can claim they've reached. Seth MacFarlane's other animated hit, Family Guy, is also on that prestigious list. The show shifted from Fox to TBS in 2014. The latest season drew in nearly 18M total viewers and the show ranks as a top-five cable comedy. With that in mind, it didn't come as a surprise when TBS renewed the series for two more seasons back in January.

American Dad centers on Stan Smith who is the head of an all-American household. Everyday life for them is taken to the limit as Stan applies the dramatic measures he's learned through his job at the CIA to his life at home. The main voice cast includes Seth MacFarlane (Stan Smith, Roger), Wendy Schaal (Francine Smith), Rachael MacFarlane (Hayley Smith), Scott Grimes (Steve Smith) and Dee Bradley Baker (Klaus). The show premiered on Fox in February 2005 and has since been aired in syndication on Adult Swim, as well as being available to stream on Hulu.

To celebrate the show's 15th anniversary, TBS is set to air a curated selection of episodes focusing on different characters each day, handpicked by the series' producers, Tuesday through Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm starting on April 14, then again on April 21. Additionally, the official American Dad 15th anniversary marathon will feature the series co-creators' top 15 favorite episodes. The marathon will take place on Monday, April 27 from 2:30 to 10:00 pm on TBS. Be sure to check out the new teaser for yourself.
