With production already under way on FX's American Crime Story, a crime anthology spinoff of American Horror Story, the first photos of the main cast members have been released. This first season centers on "The Trial of the Century," NFL star O.J. Simpson's murder trial that captivated the country for years. These photos give us our first official looks at Cuba Gooding Jr. as O.J. Simpson, John Travolta as Robert Shapiro, Sarah Paulson as Marcia Clark, David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian, Courtney B. Vance as Johnnie L. Cochran Jr. and Billy Magnussen as Kato Kaelin.

The series is based on the book The Run of His Life: The People V. O.J. Simpson by Jeffrey Toobin, which chronicles the trial from the perspective of the lawyers. The show will highlight the chaotic behind-the-scenes dealings and maneuvering on both sides of the court, and how a combination of prosecution overconfidence, defense shrewdness, and the LAPD's history with the city's African-American community gave a jury what it needed: reasonable doubt. Bruce Greenwood recently joined the cast as Los Angeles County District Attorney Gil Garcetti.

Ryan Murphy, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Scott Alexander, Larry Karaszewski and Brad Falchuk serve as executive producers of American Crime Story, which was written by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski. Much like American Horror Story, American Crime Story will focus on a different true crime story each season. Take a look at the photos below, and stay tuned for more on American Crime Story.
