Luke Kleintank has signed on to star in the Amazon Studios pilot The Man in the High Castle for producers Frank Spotnitz (The X-Files) and Ridley Scott.

The plot is adapted from Philip K. Dick's 1962 Hugo Award-winning novel of the same name, which is set in an alternate reality where the Nazis and Japan's Axis powers won World War II. The East Coast of the U.S. is controlled by Nazi Germany, while Japan runs the West Coast, although a large portion of the Midwest is still up for grabs.

Luke Kleintank is playing a character named Joe Blake, an All-American man living in New York City who joins the secret organization American Resistance. The character was not featured in Philip K. Dick's original novel.

Frank Spotnitz is writing the pilot script and is executive producing alongside Ridley Scott. Back in 2010, the project was set up as a four-hour mini-series for BBC, but it never went into production.

Luke Kleintank's feature credits include Dark House and 1000 to 1: The Cory Weissman Story, and he recently had an arc on the ABC Family series Pretty Little Liars.
