Allison Mack, best known for her role on the TV series Smallville, was arrested by the FBI in Brooklyn for her connection to the NXIVM sex cult. It has been reported that Mack was second-in-command to the cult leader, Keith Raniere. Raniere was arrested in Mexico at the end of last month and has since been returned to Texas. Mack was shown on video protesting the arrest and it was heavily rumored that she would be arrested as well for her role in allegedly bringing women into the cult.

Keith Raniere allegedly blackmailed women into becoming slaves and branded his initials into their skin with the help of Allison Mack, who was reportedly responsible for recruiting new women. She would then dig up embarrassing information about the women to use as black mail leverage. She and Raniere would also starve the women and treat them as slaves until they were proven worthy to move up the chain of command, which was rare. Raniere was arrested for sex trafficking and forced labor, and it appears that it will more than likely be the same for Mack.

Allison Mack quickly moved her way up the ladder at NXIVM because of her celebrity status. She engaged in sexual relations with Keith Raniere and became his number one, or "direct slave." Mack was recruited by Smallville co-star Kristin Kreuk, who is now no longer with the NXIVM sex cult. Both Mack and Kreuk would lure women into the cult under the false guise of being a "women's mentorship group," which they called the Dominus Obsequious Sororium. Mack would then order the new slaves to have sex with Keith Raniere while photographing them.

The Vancouver, Canada-based NXIVM sex cult allegedly preyed on up and coming actresses and in 2006, the organization brought in Vancouver-born actresses including Hawaii Five-O star Grace Park, Smallville star Kristin Kreuk, and Battlestar Galactica star Nicki Clyne. As previously noted, Kreuk recruited Allison Mack and left shortly afterwards. Grace Park also has since left the cult, but Nicki Clyne is reportedly still an active member and could also be facing criminal charges as well. It isn't clear how high up in the ranks Clyne was at the time of Keith Raniere's arrest.

While Smallville star Kristin Kreuk has distanced herself from the NXIVM sex cult since the arrest of Keith Raniere, many reports from insiders claim that she was a lot more involved in the recruitment process than she leads on. In a statement, Kreuk believes that the cult helped her with her shyness and maintains that she never saw or did anything that was against the law. As for Allison Mack, she is expected to appear in court today, but no other news has been reported as of this writing. This report originated from the WNYT News Twitter account.
