Just days after Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Comic-Con presentation in San Diego, the ABC series has added Simon Kassianides to the Season 2 cast.

The actor will be portraying Bakshi, described as, "a confident right-hand man who is not afraid to do dirty work." It wasn't confirmed who Bakshi is the right-hand man of, however, and it seems that this character was created specifically for the series, since there is no Bakshi listed in the Marvel database.

Simon Kassianides joins new Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. cast members Lucy Lawless, who is playing longtime S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Isabel Hartley, Nick Blood as S.T.R.I.K.E. director and S.H.I.E.L.D. ally Lance Hunter, and Reed Diamond as the season's main villain, a Hydra agent named Daniel Whitehall, a.k.a. Kraken. It was also revealed at Comic-Con that Season 2 will feature Barbara Morse, a.k.a. Mockingbird, although the character has not been cast yet.

We reported earlier this month that Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will air its Season 2 Premiere on Tuesday, September 23 in its new time at 9 PM ET. Simon Kassianides will next be seen on the big screen in Relativity Media's Desert Dancer, and he also voiced No-Name in DreamWorks Animation's How to Train Your Dragon 2.
