Adult Swim announced today the Season 2 pickup of Newsreaders, an absurd take on the television newsmagazine, from the creative team behind the two-time Emmy-winning series Childrens' Hospital. Production on the new season begins in Los Angeles, CA in January 2014.

Reacting to the news of the second season pickup, the producers released the following statement.

"We are proud and humbled to be the most-watched news show (with many exceptions) on cable television."
