Adult Swim debuted on Cartoon Network 20 years ago and fans of the programming block are looking back with fond nostalgia. From Space Ghost Coast to Coast to Rick and Morty and everything in between, Adult Swim has built up a solid fan base in the past two decades since first airing. Its continued popularity is evident given the love it's been getting from fans along with those involved with Adult Swim's growth.
"20 years ago today, Adult Swim launched," tweets the block's SVP/Creative Director. "Proud to have been a part of it since day one and helped define it as a brand and identity. And a place for great, funny, weird animation, music, and comedy. Thanks to everyone who gave [adult swim] your time and attention all these years!"
"Twenty years ago today, Adult Swim launched," another tweet reads. "The late-night programming block on Cartoon Network, it has since then launched some of the most well-known and loved adult animated shows and left an impressive legacy all these years later."
"Happy 20th anniversary to adult swim! Your one stop shop for surreal comedies, surprisingly poignant stuff, FOX shows, show revivals, and anime!!! Also the bane of soccermoms everywhere!" says another tweet, including images of Moral Orel, Cowboy Bebop, Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law, and Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
Another fan credits Adult Swim for saving shows that would have otherwise been doomed forever by tweeting, "Adult Swim turns 20 and could be one of the reasons why shows like Family Guy and Futurama was able to be brought back after getting cancelled by Fox. Even if Disney takes the shows from Adult Swim, what they did for the Fox shows will surely be remembered."
One fan named many favorite shows introdued by the block and said, "NGL, Adult Swim become my sense of humor & personality. Robot Chicken, Venture Brothers, Samurai Jack, Squidbillies, Superjail, Naruto,Fullmetal Alchemist,Aqua Team Hunger Force."
"Home Movies, The Venture Bros, Robot Chicken, Case Closed and now the greatness that is Rick and Morty," says another fan naming their favorites. "Adult Swim sparked my undying love of King of the Hill tho. Will never let a day go by without telling about how incredible that show is."
Another tweet reads: "Ahh I loved Adult Swim growing up and was probably too young for it! I'm still obsessed with SuperJail and used to watch Home Movies, Robot Chicken, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Family Guy,Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Mission Hill and the Oblongs!"

Fan favorite Adult Swim animated originals like Rick and Morty, Squidbillies, and Robot Chicken are still going strong on the block.
