Actor Zachary Quinto has signed on for a major arc in the upcoming FX TV series American Horror Story, his first TV job since Heroes went off the air in February 2010.

The series centers on a husband and wife (Dylan McDermott and Connie Britton) who moves their family into an unusual house which seems to sense their fears. Zachary Quinto will portray Chad, the gay former owner of the house who befriends Connie Britton's character, Vivien. It is said he will appear in at least four episodes of the season.

In related news, creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk are currently working on a two-part Halloween episode. The first episode, which is where Zachary Quinto makes his debut as Chad, will air in the show's normal Wednesday 10 PM time slot on October 26, with the second part airing on Halloween night, Monday, October 31.

American Horror Story, which also stars Jessica Lange, Frances Conroy, Denis O'Hare, and Evan Peters, debuts on Wednesday, October 5 at 10 PM ET on FX.
