As production continues on Fox's Untitled X-Files Revival, we're slowly starting to learn more and more about the return of this beloved series. Original X-Files stars Gillian Anderson (Dana Scully), David Duchovny (Fox Mulder), Mitch Pileggi (Walter Skinner) and William B. Davis (The Cigarette Smoking Man) are reprising their roles. Today we have word from another star of the original series, Dean Haglund, who played Ringo Langly, a member of the hacker group The Lone Gunmen, that he will return for the Untitled X-Files Revival. Here's what he had to say to a crowd in Sydney, Australia, confirming that the rest of the Gunmen, Tom Braidwood's Frohike and Bruce Harwood's Byers, will also be back.

"They're shooting six more episodes in Vancouver right now. Everybody asks about The Lone Gunmen. I played one of the computer hackers called The Lone Gunmen. Everybody asks 'Are the Lone Gunmen going to be in the final six episodes?' For every question I got, I'd say, 'I don't know, they haven't contacted us.' Well, today they contacted us. We're shooting July 28. The Gunmen are in the final six!"

Dean Haglund, Bruce Harwood and Tom Braidwood appeared in all nine seasons of The X-Files as members of this "hacktivist" group, and they also starred in a 2001 spinoff series entitled The Lone Gunmen, which only ran for one season. Their return may come as a surprise to some fans, since this trio were all killed off in the Season 9 episode "Jump the Shark". The show has a history of bringing characters back from the dead, though, and fans who read the IDW comic books entitled The X-Files: Season 10, learned that these hackers are actually still alive, but it isn't known if the revival series will follow the same story as the comics.

It isn't known when, exactly, The Lone Gunmen will pop up in this six-episode event series, but their return will likely be a welcomed one by fans of the original show. David Duchovny has stated that he would be open to coming back for more X-Files episodes, as long as Fox doesn't order a full season of 20 episodes or more. The show doesn't debut until January 24, 2016, so we'll have to wait and see how well it is received before a decision is made on more episodes. If this happens, it's certainly possible that The Lone Gunmen come back as well, provided they are not killed off, again.

The Untitled X-Files Revival cast is rounded out by Joel McHale, Annet Mahendru, Rhys Darby, Kumail Nanjiani and the most recent cast additions, Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose. It has been rumored that Robert Patrick and Annabeth Gish will return as John Doggett and Monica Reyes from the original series, but we still don't have any confirmation on their involvement. With production continuing in Vancouver, hopefully we learn more about new cast members very soon.
