Anticipation is building for Fox's highly-anticipated X-Files Revival, which debuts this January, and we have already seen a number of trailers, with a new poster arriving from MIPCOM yesterday. For those who want to relive the original series, though, you're in luck, since TV Shows on DVD has confirmed that Fox Home Entertainment will be releasing a new Blu-ray box set that contains all nine seasons of The X-Files on December 8. No special features details have been given yet, but you can take a look at the official product description below, which TV Shows on DVD obtained through the consumer service Fox Connect.

"Now for the first time, all nine exhilarating, groundbreaking seasons of The X-Files, along with special features, can be yours to own on Blu-ray! Although they began as reluctant partners, FBI special agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully (Golden Globe winners David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson) ultimately form a powerful bond as they struggle to unravel deadly conspiracies and solve paranormal mysteries. Blu-ray Collector's Boxset contains full seasons 1 - 9."

Fox Home Entertainment hasn't issued an official press release yet, but this set likely won't include the two feature films spawned from the original series, The X-Files (1998) and The X-Files: I Want to Believe (2008). The set will be priced at $299.00 SRP, containing all 202 episodes from the show's incredible nine-season run. Since this set will be available nearly a month and a half before the {{12} debuts on Sunday, January 24, it's possible this set will offer some sort of a sneak peek into the new six-episode event series.

The X-Files also starred Mitch Pileggi as Walter Skinner, William B. Davis as The Cigarette Smoking Man, Robert Patrick as John Doggett, Tom Braidwood as Melvin Frohike, Bruce Harwood as John Byers, Dean Haglund as Ringo Langley and Annabeth Gish as Monica Reyes. All of these characters, except for Robert Patrick's John Doggett, have been confirmed to return for the X-Files Revival, but it has been widely rumored that he will come back. Production wrapped on the new series in early September.

Fans attending New York Comic-Con this weekend will get to attend the U.S. premiere of the revival's pilot episode, which had its world premiere at MIPCOM in Cannes, France yesterday. The X-Files Revival will debut with the premiere episode, My Struggle, on Sunday, January 24 after the NFC Championship Game on Fox, followed by the second episode, Home Again, on Monday, January 25 at 8 PM ET.
