Variety reports that IFC is moving in a more comedic direction with such series as The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret and the Onion News Network.

The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret stars Arrested Development's Will Arnett and David Cross and it will premiere this fall.

The station has also given the greenlight to the Onion News Network. The show is centered around the satirical print and Web-based spoof paper. IFC also picked up and acquired Kids in the Hall: Death Comes to Town. This is the reunion series from the sketch comedy troupe that played on Canadian television last year.

IFC has a new direction with the following tagline: "Always On. Slightly Off."

David Cross is co-writing all six episodes of Todd Margaret with Shaun Pye (Extras). Cross plays the title character. He is a pathological liar that stumbles into a high-level corporate job in London; he works under Arnett's character. Spike Jonze and Amber Tamblyn have already been booked as guests on the show.

Onion News Network has an order placed for 10 half-hour episodes. It is set for an early 2011 launch.

Kids in the Hall: Death Comes to Town is set up as a comedy murder-mystery that is told in eight 30-minute segments. It is written by and features all five original members of the comedy troupe. They play more than 20 characters.

In addition to this, IFC also picked up Dead Set. This is a five-episode zombie horror parody that takes place on eviction night at the U.K.'s Big Brother house. It will debut in October.

At present, no official time-slots have been picked for the upcoming shows.
