Following last night's episode of AMC's The Walking Dead, the network released two brief previews for the third Season 7 episode, The Cell, airing Sunday, November 6 at 9 PM ET on AMC, along with new photos. These videos reveal next week's episode will catch up with Daryl (Norman Reedus), who wasn't anywhere to be seen during last night's episode, which switched gears from the brutal Walking Dead Season 7 premiere. If you didn't see last night's episode, or the Season 7 premiere, there will be SPOILERS that follow, so read on at your own risk.
At the end of the Season 7 premiere, the nefarious Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) had slaughtered not one but two members of Rick's (Andrew Lincoln) crew, Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz) and Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun). He also took another member of the group, Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) after he tried attacking Negan. The premiere was both faithful to the introduction of Negan in the comics, while adding a new twist, since Abraham was supposed to die last season, although that death was taken by Dr. Denise Cloyd (Merrit Wever).
This first preview, courtesy of AMC, shows Daryl being put into the Kingdom's jail, which explains this episode's title, The Cell. Daryl is dressed in a grey sweatsuit, with the letter A spray painted on his chest and back, presumably signifying that he's from Alexandria. We see others dressed in a similar fashion, with different letters painted on their sweatshirts, which likely identifies which colony they're from. We also saw part of this trailer in a previously-released clip, where Daryl's motorcycle and vest were taken by the Savior Dwight (Austin Amelio).
Last night's episode gave us our first look at The Kingdom and its leader King Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and, in addition to the two clips we have last night's most talked-about scene. This scene features King Ezekiel telling his story to Carol (Melissa McBride), in order to convince her to stay within the realm of The Kingdom. Last night's episode ends with the two reaching a compromise, with Carol being given a house near The Kingdom. It remains to be seen if Morgan and Carol will reunite with Rick and his group anytime soon, but it may be for the best that they don't return to Alexandria anytime soon.
The first trailer also introduces The Walking Dead to a new mystery character, who offers a dire warning about Negan and The Saviors. She states that whatever Negan has done, there's more. Take a look at these previews and photos below, as we wait for next week's episode of The Walking Dead Season 7.
