A few weeks ago during New York Comic Con, The Walking Dead producer and comic book creator Robert Kirkman confirmed that the show will in fact cross over with Fear the Walking Dead, after years of stating that a crossover will never happen. There will be one specific character who will cross over into Fear The Walking Dead, which is several years behind The Walking Dead timeline, which has lead to a slew of theories about which character it may be. During a new interview, executive producer, director and makeup effects supervisor Greg Nicotero said there is no truth to any of the rumors about which character will in fact cross over. Here's what he had to say below, when asked if any of the theories are true.

"Nope, not yet. I love the fan theories. The Abraham one was certainly intriguing and definitely my favorite. I'm not sure when it's gonna take place. I don't know when we're actually introducing that. Listen, the fans come up with some great ideas. Even if they were on point, you know I can't tell you that!"

There has even been recent talk that this Walking Dead crossover could happen during The Walking Dead Season 8, but given Greg Nicotero's comments in this recent interview, where he stated he's not sure when the crossover will happen, it seems unlikely this will take place in Season 8, which premieres tonight on AMC. Still, it's possible that some details about the crossover will be addressed on the after-show, Talking Dead, which has an extended two-hour episode tonight following the Season 8 premiere. When asked about the Fear the Walking Dead Season 4, Greg Nicotero had this to say.

"I will tell you, I've read the first two outlines, and they're astonishingly good. It really got me very, very excited about the upcoming season. I think Andrew [Chambliss] and Ian [Goldberg] have done an amazing job. There's great, great stuff coming up on Fear the Walking Dead next year."

Since The Walking Dead takes place on the East Coast and Fear the Walking Dead is set clear on the other side of the country, it remains unclear which character will be featured in this crossover. It's possible that The Walking Dead Season 8 premiere could offer some hints about this crossover, but it seems unlikely. Hopefully we'll find out more about the worlds of The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead colliding with this crossover. You can visit ComicBook.com for more on this crossover.
