A new TV series based on James Cameron's 1994 action movie True Lies has found a home at ABC, according to Deadline TV.

We reported earlier this week that the project was being shopped around to all the major networks, and now ABC has secured the project. James Cameron will executive produce the pilot, which was written by René Echevarria. Jon Landau and Rae Sanchini will also executive produce the pilot and René Echevarria will serve as the showrunner.

The storyline of the new TV series wasn't revealed at this time. James Cameron directed the 1994 movie which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jamie Lee Curtis and Tom Arnold and centered on a family man who leads a double life as a spy.

It wasn't clear when the pilot may go into production yet, but we'll be sure to keep you posted with any further details on this new True Lies TV series as soon as more information is available.
