Even though an official renewal hasn't been issued yet, there has been a lot of talk already regarding Season 2 of HBO's hit drama series True Detective, with series creator Nic Pizzolatto revealing in March that he is already writing the scripts. The creator/executive producer recently appeared on the To The Best Of Our Knowledge Podcast where he revealed that Season 2 will feature three lead characters and will be set in California.

"Right now, we're working with three leads. It takes place in California. Not Los Angeles, but some of the lesser known venues of California and we're going to try to capture a certain psychosphere ambience of the place, much like we did with season one."

Despite recent rumors that Brad Pitt and Jessica Chastain are up for roles in Season 2, Nic Pizzolatto said that casting will begin this month, with the entire season already mapped out.

"The characters are all new, but I am deeply in love with all of them. We have the entire season broken out, and I have a couple of scripts, and we'll probably start casting within the coming month."

For those who wish to know more about the Hart (Woody Harrelson) and Cohle (Matthew McConaughey) story line from Season 1, the series creator teased that their adventures may continue in book form sometime down the road.
