Two more actors have been added to the cast of True Detective for Season 2, with Lolita Davidovich and James Frain set to appear in recurring roles.

True Detective Season 2 will revolve around three police officers to be played by Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch and Rachel McAdams, with Vince Vaughn signed on to play a career criminal who finds himself trapped in a conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder. At this time, only Vince Vaughn and Colin Farrell have been officially confirmed by HBO.

Lolita Davidovich will play Nancy Simpson, mother of Taylor Kitsch's character, who is described as a 'girly girl'. She is a former showgirl and chain smoker who chugs margaritas as she mourns the lose of any male sexual attention. She focuses her last remaining hope onto her police detective son, who she views as God's gift to woman.

James Frain is set to play Jeff Hunt, described as a ruthless police detective.

Also having joined the cast in recent weeks are Kelly Reilly, Michael Irby, Abigail Spencer and Leven Rambin. True Detective Season 2 will begin shooting in early 2015.
