With the main cast nearly set for Season 2 of True Detective, the HBO series is rounding out its supporting cast, with Kelly Reilly, Michael Irby, Abigail Spencer and Leven Rambin either signed on or finalizing their deals for the heralded series.

This season takes place in California and centers on three cops, Ray Velcoro (Colin Farrell), Paul Woodrugh (Taylor Kitsch) and Ani Bezzerides (a role offered to Rachel McAdams last month), who join forces with career criminal Frank Semyon (Vince Vaughn) to unravel a conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder.

Kelly Reilly will play a "self-obsessed" character named Morgan in a series regular role, while Michael Irby will play Elvis, Ani Bezzerides' partner. Abigail Spencer is playing Alicia, the survivor of a sexual assault, with Leven Rambin playing Sophia, a "beauty with a history of drug problems."

Both Kelly Reilly and Abigail Spencer were on series creator Nic Pizzolatto's short list to play the female lead, but he was also eyeing actresses on that list for other roles as well. The series is set to have its first table read of the season tomorrow.

Kelly Reilly most recently starred in the ABC series Black Box, while Michael Irby was featured on Fox's Almost Human last season. Abigail Spencer is best known for her roles in Mad Men, Suits, Rectify, while Leven Rambin recently starred on the big screen in Two Night Stand.
