The Walking Dead season 10 is almost here. AMC has dropped a new trailer for their hit series and it looks intense, to say the least. So far, the season is shaping up to be an emotional one since Michonne actress Danai Gurira has confirmed that season 10 will be her last on the show. This is a pretty big blow since fans are still not over losing Andrew Lincoln's Rick Grimes last season. Whatever the case may be, the Whisperers are here and the goal is to silence them, according to the new trailer.

The Walking Dead is a story that started 10 years ago with one man trying to find his family. That original family started to grow and then communities gradually took shape. They fought and survived, thrived and gave birth to a new generation. The series tells the tale of humankind and there are lot more stories to tell within this medium. It is now Spring, a few months after the end of season 9, when our group of survivors dared to cross into Whisperer territory during the harsh winter. The collected communities are still dealing with the after effects of Alpha's horrific display of power, reluctantly respecting the new borderlines being imposed on them, all while organizing themselves into a militia-style fighting force, preparing for a battle that may be unavoidable.

However, the Whisperers are a threat unlike any they have ever faced. Backed by a massive horde of the dead it is seemingly a fight they cannot win. The question of what to do and the fear it breeds will infect the communities and give rise to paranoia, propaganda, secret agendas, and infighting that will test them as individuals and as a society. The very idea of whether civilization can survive in a world filled with the dead hangs in the balance for AMC's The Walking Dead.

Alpha and her Whisperers are taken straight from Robert Kirkman's comic book source material and fans are curious to see how closely the new storyline will follow said source material. The Walking Dead has done a good job of taking elements from the comics and expanding upon them and giving them new life. While fans aren't always happy with the results, it has kept the show going for ten seasons now.

The Walking Dead season 10 premieres Sunday, October 6th, exclusively on AMC. Thankfully, the wait is almost over for fans to see Alpha and her Whisperers truly show off their muscle. While it's unclear where the Whisperers will drive the story, we do know that showrunner Angela Kang has promised that Michonne will have a strong arc before leaving the series.
