A new reunion photo featuring the cast of The Office has sparked more speculation that a revival might be in the works. The reunion took place over the weekend, just a few weeks after some of the cast joined Steve Carell on Saturday Night Live to jokingly beg him to get behind a reboot of the beloved sitcom. However, Carell doesn't seem to really want to do the reboot for various reasons, but it looks like we could be closer now than ever before.

Angela Kinsey, who played Angela Martin on The Office posted the reunion photo on her Instagram account late Sunday. The picture includes Kinsey, Creed Bratton, Paul Lieberstein, Brian Baumgartner, Leslie David Baker, Phyllis Smith, Oscar Nuñez, Rainn Wilson, Jenna Fischer, and Ed Helms alongside series creator Greg Daniels. Steve Carell, John Krasinski, Mindy Kaling, Kate Flannery, and B.J. Novak were not in attendance. Kinsey captioned the photo by stating that it was "great to see everyone," and said, "For those who couldn't make it, you were missed!"

Jenna Fischer also posted the reunion picture on social media and explained that they were trying to recreate a classic Christmas photo of The Office cast. Fischer then mentioned the cast members that were not there and said, "We will see you soon!" This is where the speculation about a reboot has come from. These reunion photos paired with the mini-reunion on Saturday Night Live have many fans wondering if something is really brewing behind-the-scenes. Next year will mark 6 years without the sitcom, so there really could be some plans for a reunion of some kind.

John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer have expressed interest in returning to The Office over the years. Krasinski thinks that the gang should all get back together for a Christmas special, which would be a pretty cool idea and wouldn't have the pressure of trying to come up with an entire season of material. Plus, it would more than likely only need a few days to shoot, leaving the massive cast open to pursue other projects and hang with their families more. Regardless, fans would be happy for anything at this point. Seeing the cast together over this last weekend and during the SNL mini reunion has made a lot of fans very happy.

The American version of The Office started back in 2005, and ran for nine seasons. The first seven seasons are hailed as classics by hardcore fans, but many believe that the final seasons suffered after Steve Carell left the show. Since the series wrapped in 2009, much of the cast has gone on to some pretty huge projects. Carell has two movies out this year with Academy Award buzz, John Krasinski released A Quiet Place, which many call one of the best movies of the year, and the rest of the cast have been making excellent work as well. Will a reboot or Christmas special really happen? We'll just have to wait and see. You can check out The Office reunion picture below, thanks to Angela Kinsey's Instagram account.
