The 100 returned to San Diego Comic-Con to give fans all the scoop on the upcoming fifth season, and also debuted an exclusive highlight reel recounting all the action and drama from season four, culminating in Praimfaya's ravaging of the planet. Stars Eliza Taylor, Bob Morley, Marie Avgeropoulos, Lindsey Morgan, Christopher Larkin, Richard Harmon and executive producer Jason Rothenberg were on hand for the panel, where they dropped some new details about The 100 Season 5. For instance, executive producer Jason Rothenberg revealed that the prisoner transport ship that arrived in the final moments of the Season 4 finale was actually from Earth, more than 100 years ago.
"The prison ship, they're from Earth. They're from our time, so they're from before the first apocalypse. That means it's probably cryo. They were in hypersleep. They've come back to this planet that they don't recognize and has been destroyed, and all that's left is this garden of Eden that Clarke's been living in, and there's not enough room for everyone."
In The 100 Season 5, more than six years have passed since Praimfaya ravaged the planet, and killed most of the human race. As Clarke waits to hear from the group on the Ark, or in the bunker, a new mystery drops from the sky. Who is in the arriving ship, and are they friends or enemies? One thing is certain, Clarke is now the Grounder! From Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Alloy Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television, The 100 returns midseason with all-new episodes on The CW. The 100: The Complete Fourth Season is available now on Digital, Blu-ray and DVD.
For four seasons, The 100 have fought to survive. That fight has torn them apart, turned them against each other, and taken the lives of their closest friends. Season Four introduced our heroes to the harsh truth that the human race is doomed to face an unbeatable enemy: the remaining nuclear reactors on Earth have melted down and are setting the atmosphere on fire. Our heroes had very little time to prepare for the worst, with every possible solution disappearing almost as quickly as they were able to come up with them. With a literal countdown to the end of the world, our heroes will be forced to go to unimaginable lengths to make it out alive - with or without each other.
In the aftermath of Praimfaya, they must begin again, and with Season Five our heroes will have to examine their responsibility to the new place they call home, and the future generations who will inhabit it. Can they begin again and celebrate what remains, or will the frailties of human nature cost them their one chance to rise from the ashes? Based on the book series by Kass Morgan, The 100 is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Alloy Entertainment, Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios with executive producers Jason Rothenberg and Leslie Morgenstein (The Vampire Diaries). Along with the Season 4 highlight reel, we also have a Comic-Con confessional video with stars Marie Avgeropoulos, Lindsey Morgan and Tasya Teles, which you can check out below along with The 100 trailer from Comic-Con 2017.
