MTV held its annual Teen Wolf panel at Comic-Con this afternoon, where the network announced that the show was renewed for Season 6. The hit series was actually given a Season 5 renewal during last year's Comic-Con panel, so perhaps this is the start of an SDCC tradition. The network also gave fans a look at the rest of Season 5 with a new trailer.

The show was given a 20-episode renewal last year, but the exact episode count for Season 6 has yet to be revealed. It was confirmed that stars Dylan O'Brien and Tyler Posey will be back for Season 6, although Tyler Hoechlin will not be returning as Derek. Series creator Jeff Davis encouraged fans who want the actor to return, to tweet him @tylerl_hoechlin and ask him to come back. Dylan Sprayberry also teased that there will be a new conflict between Scott and Liam.

"There will be some conflict with Scott and I. We will see some more of that this season. It's such a big part of this season for our characters."

Teen Wolf creator Jeff Davis teased that something happens at the start of episode 5 that drives a wedge between Scott and Stiles.

"Something happens in episode 5, in the beginning, that causes a rift between Scott and Stiles and threatens their relationship. It's something that Theo uses."

This season is set on the eve of Senior Year, as Scott and his friends find themselves facing the possibility of a future without each other, a next phase of their lives that might take them in different directions despite their best intentions. Little do they know that outside forces are already plotting to break the pack apart long before they ever see graduation. New villains use a combination of science and the supernatural for a malevolent and mysterious purpose that will eventually pit Scott and his friends against their greatest enemy yet. Tyler Posey teased that Scott's whole wolfpack is crumbling around him.

"Scott feels like he can't handle his own pack. Scott's pack is falling apart around him. He can't figure out what it is and why and I think he is dealing with the idea that somebody can handle the pack or be a better Alpha than he can."
