It's been a while since any news has broken around M. Night Shyamalan's Tales from the Crypt revival on TNT. Originally slated for a late 2017 premiere, TNT was recently quoted saying that the series reboot had hit various snags in the rights department which were keeping the show from getting made. Although the studio didn't say if they were moving forward or not, it seemed that there were ongoing talks to get things resolved. For the time being, it seemed that the reinvented Crypt Keeper was going to have to wait.

Today, vimeo user TBIK Inc., a collective of talented artists, designers and animators, revealed a behind-the-scenes promo video of M. Night Shyamalan explaining his vision, inspiration and passion for the original Tales from the Crypt. The trailer reveals clips from what can be assumed is the show, or part of upcoming plan for the TNT Horror Block.

The new series is said to follow the classic anthology format and lean towards recent modern styles seen in Black Mirror. A recent report stated that the series creators were looking for hardcore fans to submit entries for story ideas to create a trove of fan-written episodes through Wattpad.

The original Tales From the Crypt series, based on the 1950s EC Comics, aired on HBO from 1989 to 1996 and contained 93 episodes over 7 bloody seasons. There were also several Tales From the Crypt movies, including Demon Knight and Bordello of Blood, as well as a children's TV show called Tales from the Cryptkeeper. The show contained several notable cameos and guest stars from the biggest stars of the 1980s.

Take a look at the new Tales from the Crypt videos quick before they're gone for good. These haven't officially been released, so we're not sure how long they'll stick around. Slick as the show looks, is this what we expected from a revival of such an iconic 80s horror classic? is this what we expected from superfan M. Night Shyamalan? Only time will tell in how this all pans out over at TNT. If they get the Crypt Keeper right, anything could happen.
