Supernatural season 15 will feature the return of Emily Swallow's The Darkness. Swallow confirmed the news on social media with an image from the set with co-star Rob Benedict. This should be huge news for fans of the show who haven't see The Darkness since the season 11 finale back in May 2016. The hit series held its last San Diego Comic-Con panel last month and it was an emotional moment for fans and the cast, who are all sad to see Supernatural come to a close after 15 seasons. With that being said, it's looking like season 15 is shaping up to be a huge event.

Emily Swallow seems excited to be back with Rob Benedict and the rest of the Supernatural family. In her caption from the set image she says, "Yes, we are both in Vancouver. And yes, it's high time for Amara to step in and set little pipsqueak brother Chuck straight. So... guess you'll be seeing us in season 15!" It looks like Amara is going to be taking on some serious business this time around, though it is unclear how many episodes she will be in this season. It could also be a cameo, but we'll all find out soon enough.

The Darkness, aka Amara, is a "supremely powerful primordial entity who has existed since before the beginning of time, predating both God and Death." She first appeared in Supernatural season 11, though she was spoken about back in season 10 and only referred to as The Darkness. She was sealed away by God, who would later become known as Chuck Shurely, and is who The Darkness considers to be her brother. She was then released by a witch named Rowena who gave her a human form known as Amara. Dean was later romantically involved with Amara in the series before she left Earth with Chuck during season 11.

Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins made the announcement earlier this year that Supernatural season 15 would be its last. The actors were all holding back tears in the video they released and they still get teary-eyed when talking about the show coming to an end. Collins has said shooting the final season has been "painful" and that the entire cast and crew is "struggling with a long goodbye." The cast and crew have become incredibly close over the years and have created a real family behind-the-scenes, which comes across when watching the show.

Supernatural season 15 is all set to premiere October 15th, exclusively on The CW. The cast and crew are currently shooting the final episodes in Vancouver and there are sure to be a lot more special guests and surprises announced in the coming weeks as the premiere date approaches.
