Superman TV Show Krypton in Development with David S. Goyer
After helping to bring Superman back to life on the big screen with Man of Steel, writer David S. Goyer is reportedly attached to a TV show entitled Krypton, set on Superman's home planet.
No story details have been confirmed, and it isn't known if the series is set up at a network at this time, but Bleeding Cool suggests that this series might be using the same formula as Fox and DC Comics' Gotham, which is set years before a young Bruce Wayne ever becomes Batman. It's possible that this Krypton show could include the "House of El," the villain Brainiac, an "end-of-the-world cult" and several dragons, but nothing has been confirmed at this time.
In the DC movie universe, Krypton was depicted in Man of Steel, as Jor-El (Russell Crowe) sent his son Kal-El (Henry Cavill) to Earth before his home planet was destroyed. The planet has been featured in numerous comic books, such as World Of Krypton and For The Man Who Has Everything, so there is plenty for the show to draw from, although it isn't exactly clear what direction the show will head in.
David S. Goyer currently serves as an executive producer on another DC Comics series, Constantine, which debuted last week on NBC.
