After a successful first season, and a shift to The CW in Season 2, many fans expected that the Man of Steel himself, Superman, would finally show up this fall on Supergirl. Last month, the network announced that Tyler Hoechlin has been cast as the Man of Steel, and just yesterday we got our first look at the actor in full costume, alongside Melissa Benoist as Supergirl. Today, however, we have our first videos from the set showcasing Tyler Hoechlin in action as Superman.

The videos surfaced on Twitter earlier today but unfortunately they don't show us much of the action. Tyler Hoechlin is seen taking selfies with some of his co-stars in one of the videos, while another shows him reacting to something in the sky, but we don't know what. Regardless we still get to see what he looks like in action on set.

Fans who attended the Supergirl panel at Comic-Con last week got to see Tyler Hoechlin in person, although they didn't get to see him in full costume. It was revealed earlier this week that the Superman costume was designed by Supergirl costume designer Kiersten Ronning. It was also confirmed that Superman will first surface during the Season 2 premiere, which airs Monday, October 10 at 8 PM ET on The CW. When the actor was first cast, it was revealed that Tyler Hoechlin will debut with a two-episode arc at the start of this new year, but it isn't known if he will continue to visit his cousin in National City throughout Season 2.

Season 2 of Supergirl will also feature the original Wonder Woman herself, Lynda Carter, who will play the President of the United States, with Floriana Lima recently signing on to play Maggie Sawyer, who was one of the first openly gay comic book characters when she debuted in 1987. Another rumor surfaced last week that revealed two more DC Comics characters, Kathy Kane, a.k.a. Batwoman, who will be Maggie Sawyer's ex-girlfriend on the show, and Barbara Gordon, a.k.a. The Oracle. The show hasn't cast Batwoman or The Oracle quite yet, but hopefully we'll have more updates soon.

Supergirl will now anchor the network's superhero lineup which will span four nights. Supergirl is set to retain its Monday 8 PM timeslot on The CW, with The Flash following on Tuesdays at 8 PM, Arrow on Wednesdays at 8 PM and Legends of Tomorrow on Thursdays at 8 PM. Hopefully we'll get to see the first footage of Tyler Hoechlin in his full Superman costume soon, so stay tuned. Take a look at these new videos from the set of Supergirl, to get ready for the Season 2 premiere this fall on The CW.
