Earlier this month, one of the recently-released photos from Stranger Things Season 2 gave us our first look at one of the new characters, Sadie Sink's Max. Filming is still under way in the Atlanta area, and today we have new photos from the set, one of which gives us a better look at Max, while the others showcase a 1980s arcade set and the Hawkins police station set that is being used for the production. Unfortunately, there isn't much than can be gleaned from these images, as far as the story is concerned.

These images appeared on various Twitter accounts, although it isn't clear how long filming is supposed to last in the Atlanta area. Max was teased in a casting breakdown last year, with the actress hired in October, along with Dacre Montgomery as her step-brother Billy. Unlike the main group of kids in Hawkins, who get around town by riding their bikes, Max is a skater girl, described as tough and confident with a complicated past. She is said to be very suspicious of anyone who surrounds her in life.

Max will also be the focal point for two of the young Hawkins boys. Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) and Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) will be "vying" for Max's romantic attention this season, creating an innocent love triangle of sorts. Her step-brother Billy, on the other hand, will serve as the show's 'human villain'. Billy is described as edgy and overly confident, whose hobbies include stealing girlfriends away from their longtime boyfriends, drinking games and driving his black Camaro. He is described as having a 'violent and unpredictable nature.' It seems possible that Billy may channel some of those violent tendencies at some of the Hawkins kids, but it's too soon to tell.

Series co-creator Matt Duffer has also teased that this season will explore "different kinds of horror," with the connection to the Upside Down still open. The Demogorgon is actually destroyed, but the Upside Down still remains, so we'll have to wait and see if any other creatures emerge from this mysterious place. It has also been reported that Will Byers has visions of the Upside Down, after he was seen coughing up a nasty slug at the end of Season 1. The Hawkins, Indiana lab is now being run by Dr. Owens (Paul Reiser), who is described as "seemingly friendly." Other new characters include Sean Astin as a local Radio Shack manager who went to high school with both Joyce and Sheriff Hopper (David Harbour), and who has started dating Joyce. It has been strongly hinted that Hopper isn't too pleased that Joyce is dating Sean Astin's character.

Netflix previously released the titles for all nine episodes in Stranger Things Season 2, but the Duffer Brothers revealed that some of those titles will change. During a recent interview, Matt Duffer said that he has seen videos online analyzing the episode titles, and a lot of them have been "right on the money" with their theories about this season. It remains to be seen when the new titles will be unveiled, or if fans will be able to glean any story details from them. With 10 months left between now and the premiere of Stranger Things Season 2, we'll have to wait and see how much more information will be released.
