Over the weekend, LucasFilm debuted the new Star Wars Rebels Season 4 trailer, while revealing that this final season of the hit animated series will kick off Monday, October 16, with multiple airings at 12:30 AM, 3:00 AM, 7:30 AM, 5:30 PM and 9:00 PM. With the final season for the show set, some have wondered if these final episodes will include any characters from Rogue One, since they're essentially set in roughly the same area of the Star Wars timeline, and Krennic's name was dropped in the trailer. When asked in a recent interview if the Director Krennic character played by Ben Mendelsohn in Rogue One, Dave Filoni confirmed he will not be part of the story, but they were considering using him. Here's what he had to say below.

"Name-dropping. It's always fun to make it feel like it's part of this big world ... But the cape alone would be half my budget, just to make it flow. I was imagining a shot with Vader and Krennic and the Emperor, but it's like having a cape convention with those guys. Then you have Tarkin and Thrawn, and it starts too look like a Legion of Bad Guys. When you get too many bizarre Star Wars villains together, I don't know if it works for me."

Some fans may have thought that Krennic would be featured this season since we also saw Saw Gerrera, the Rogue One character played by Forest Whitaker, in Season 3, but it seems fans won't be seeing Krennic. The writer and producer also revealed in his interview with Entertainment Weekly that the crew of Ghost will join the larger Rebellion from the original film trilogy in this final season. Here's what Dave Filoni had to say about where the crew of the Ghost finds themselves this season.

"Executive producer Dave Filoni tells EW the crew of the Ghost, who have been battling the Empire as part of their own nascent resistance, will finally join up with the larger Rebellion we know from the original trilogy.

"I don't think of them at the end of Star Wars Rebels Season 3 as too victorious, as much as they just got away," he says. "They lost a lot of resources, they lost the initiative to have an attack to free the world of Lothal or knock out the Imperial factory there. In the end, yes they got away, but that's kind of all they got. Now they have a lot less."

We also recently reported that this hit animated series almost introduced the Starkiller from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but that never happened. With this final season of Star Wars Rebels just over a month away, hopefully we'll get more details and footage from the final episodes, as fans prepare to say goodbye to this hit series. Hopefully we'll also hear more about future animated shows that will be set in the Star Wars universe soon as well.
