Back in July 2014, Marvel and LucasFilm announced a new line of Star Wars comics that will be included as part of the movie canon. These three new comics, titled Star Wars, Darth Vader and Princess Leia, all take place after Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, and the latest issue of Star Wars that debuted earlier today, reveals a shocking surprise about Han Solo that could have an impact on the Star Wars movie universe. If you haven't caught up with the comics yet, there will be SPOILERS below, so read on at your own risk.

In Star Wars #4, writer Jason Aaron introduced a masked character who came to Mos Eisley in search of Han Solo. This mysterious person took out a group of Rodian warriors by using a voice-activated blaster hidden under a table, a scene reminiscent of Han Solo's infamous table shootout with Greedo in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. In Star Wars #6, which hit the shelves today, Jason Aaron revealed that this person is none other than Han Solo's wife, Sana Solo, who tracked both Han and Leia to a remote planet before revealing her identity and pointing a gun at both of them.

Of course, this changes a lot in terms of Han's character, since it was never revealed before that he was married. Sana is also an African-American female, the first ever in the Star Wars universe. The reveal happens right at the end of the issue, so we'll have to wait until Star Wars #5 to learn more about Sana and Han's marriage. Since she has Han and Leia at gunpoint, one would assume their relationship is likely on the rocks.

Since we know the comic books are canon, it's possible that we could see Sana in the second Star Wars anthology movie, which is rumored to include both Han Solo and the nefarious bounty hunter Boba Fett. The second spinoff, like the first, Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One, is set between Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. The comics do take place after Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, but, depending on how long Han was married to Sana before her first appearance in the comics, it's possible that she could show up in this spin off.

Then again, the anthology movie hasn't been confirmed to revolve around Han Solo and Boba Fett, but we'll have to wait and see. Are you surprised to learn that Han Solo was married? Let us know what you think below, and stay tuned for more on the ever-expanding Star Wars universe.
