Way back in June 2014, just a few months after production started on Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we got one of the first reports directly from the set from a somewhat surprising source: filmmaker Kevin Smith. The filmmaker recounted his set visit during one of his many podcasts, and while he didn't divulge too many specific details, he did reveal that the Millennium Falcon would return. Now that Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a massive hit, LucasFilm is starting the pull the curtain back from this secretive production even more, with StarWars.com revealing a list of the "additional voices" used in the film, one of which was Kevin Smith.

The scene where Kevin Smith's voice is used is during the First Order attack on Maz Kanata's (Lupita Nyong'o) castle. The filmmaker/actor voices a Stormtrooper, who, when reacting to incoming Resistance fighters, says "We have incoming at 28.6! Move!" After the announcement of his voice role was made, the director had this to say on his Twitter account.

"Word's officially out: I'm in @starwars! And all I know is killing and white uniforms! Many thanks, Obi-Wan Abrams!"

The "killing and white uniforms" bit is a nod to his feature film debut, Clerks. There is a scene in the comedy where Randall (Jeff Anderson) is talking about the "independent contractors" presumably brought on to help finish construction on the second Death Star in Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi, where he states that all Stormtroopers know is "killing and white uniforms." As for the "additional voices" in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Kevin Smith isn't the only notable name.

Sam Witwer, who has voiced Palpatine in Star Wars Rebels and several other characters in various Star Wars video games, lends his voice to several different Stormtroopers throughout the movie. Other memorable voice credits include Star Wars: The Clone Wars voice actors Dee Bradley Baker, Matthew Wood, James Arnold Taylor, David Acord, Catherine Taber, Matt Lanter and Fred Tatasciore, along with Nigel Goodrich, just to name a few. You can visit StarWars.com for a complete list of all the additional voice roles, along with where their scenes are in the film.

The site did mention that there are a few other cameos that will not be revealed quite yet. We already know of a few other cameos, such as Simon Pegg as Unkar Plutt, who trades Rey for "portions" of food during the beginning of the film, and Daniel Craig as the Stormtrooper who Rey uses "the Force" on. What do you think of all these additional voices in Star Wars: The Force Awakens? Chime in with your thoughts below, and stay tuned for more details.
