Ever since beloved actor Neil Patrick Harris was cast as Count Olaf in Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events, fans have been curious about what the actor will look like in full costume. Now that production is under way in Vancouver, the first set photos have arrived, and fans may have to do a double-take, because NPH is barely recognizable as the nefarious Count Olaf. Filming has been under way all this month, but today is the first time we've gotten to see the actor on set.

VanCity Buzz reports that the scene involves Neil Patrick Harris getting out of a vehicle before entering a building to purchase a new disguise. The images also feature a number of other unidentified actors, including two older females dressed in identical costumes, and a man whose oversized coat has two large hooks attached where his hands would be. According to the show's IMDB page, the "Hook-Handed Man" is played by Usman Ally, while Jacqueline Roberts and Joyce Roberts are most likely the two women seen in the photos, whose roles are listed as "White-Faced Woman #1" and "White-Faced Woman #2."

Lemony Snicket's a Series of Unfortunate Events tells the story of three orphaned children. Violet (Malina Weissman), Klaus (Louis Hynes) and Sunny Baudelaire are constantly battling their evil uncle Count Olaf, who is only out to inherit their family fortune. Brad Silberling, who directed the original movie, was believed to be returning to direct, but Barry Sonnnenfeld came aboard last month to direct. It isn't known if Barry Sonnenfeld will direct just the pilot episode, or if he will be on board for every episode. Patrick Warburton will provide the narration as Lemony Snicket throughout the eight-episode Netflix series.

The Lemony Snicket's a Series of Unfortunate Events TV show is being produced in association with Paramount TV and Netflix. Daniel Handler, the author of the novel series who writes under the pen name Lemony Snicket, is set to executive produce. The 2004 movie based on Daniel Handler's novel series starred Jim Carrey as Count Olaf, and those familiar with the movie will notice quite the resemblance between both versions of the character. The movie also starred Liam Aiken, Emily Browning, Kara Hoffman, Shelby Hoffman, Jude Law, Timothy Spall, Catherine O'Hara, Billy Connolly and Meryl Streep.

The streaming service hasn't announced when Lemony Snicket's a Series of Unfortunate Events will debut quite yet, but we'll keep you posted as soon as we have more details. Hopefully Netflix will released a full cast list and new story details soon, now that production has gotten under way. Until then, take a look at the latest set photos from Lemony Snicket's a Series of Unfortunate Events.
