Get ready to run! Actor Julian McMahon from Dirk Gently, is joining the cast of the highly-anticipated Hulu Original Series Marvel's Runaways as Jonah. While his origins and ultimate intentions are unknown, McMahon will be a pivotal player in the Runaways' rebellion against their parents, known as The Pride. Be sure to watch it exclusively on Hulu when it premieres on the streaming service, Tuesday, November 21! Here's what Executive Producers and Showrunners Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage had to say about the casting.

"We're incredibly excited to add Julian to our exceptional cast and we can't wait to see what he brings to the world of Marvel's Runaways."

Every teenager thinks their parents are evil. What if you found out they actually were? Marvel's Runaways is the story of six diverse teenagers who can barely stand each other but who must unite against a common foe, their parents. The Hulu original series is based on the Marvel comics created by the award-winning team of Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona. The book series has won an Eisner, a Harvey and was featured as one of the Young Adult Library Services Association's best books for young adults. The Runaways trailer leaked online back in May, but we haven't gotten an official version quite yet.

The primary Runaways cast includes Gregg Sulkin as Chase Stein, Ariela Barer as Gert Yorkes, Lyrica Okano as Nico Minoru, Virginia Gardner as Karolina Dean, Rhenzy Feliz as Alex Wilder and Allegra Acosta as Molly Hernandez. The rest of the cast is rounded out by their parents, a.k.a. The Pride. Karolina's parents, Leslie and Frank Dean, are portrayed by Annie Wersching and Kip Pardue, with Alex's parents, Geoffrey and Catherine Wilder, played by Ryan Sands and Angel Parker. James Yaegashi and Brittany Ishibashi portray Nico's parents, Robert and Tina Minoru, with Gert's parents, Dale and Stacey Yorkes played by Kevin Weisman and Brigid Brannagh and James Marsters and Ever Carradine playing Chase's parents, Victor and Janet Stein.

During the TCA summer tour earlier this month, executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage revealed that The Runaways won't have traditional villains, although the parents will certainly be villainous in nature. However, there won't be any, "mustache-twirling bad guys who are just out for world domination". Marvel TV president Jeph Loeb also joked during the TCA tour that this series is "The O.C. of the Marvel Universe," since both Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage created that hit Fox series. The producers both added that fans will be surprised how "important" the parent story lines are, much like how fans of The O.C. were surprised how important the parental stories were to that program.

Adapted from the Marvel comic book by Brian K. Vaughan and executive produced by Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. Marvel's Runaways is produced by Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios. Julian McMahon first came into prominence on the small screen by starring alongside Robert Davi and Roma Maffia in NBC's Profiler, before moving on to star as Cole Turner in Charmed and as Dr. Christian Troy in his breakthrough role in the hit FX series Nip/Tuck. He most recently starred in Hunters and Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. Hopefully we'll have more on Marvel's Runaways in the near future.
