It's a very good day to be a Marvel fan! Just hours after the first trailer for Netflix's The Defenders made its way online, the first teaser for Hulu's Runaways has leaked, revealing Marvel's team of teen superheroes. The first-ever footage was shown off at Hulu's upfront presentation and, lucky for us, this teaser for Marvel's Runaways has made its way online. The series isn't set to debut until 2018, which means Hulu isn't likely to officially release the sneak peek all that soon. So be sure to watch it while you can, as it may get taken down fairly quickly.

Hulu is in the process of marketing their current slate of upcoming projects and Runaways is a big one for them this year. The leaked footage first emerged on Twitter before migrating to Youtube. If the video has been blocked in the players below, you can probably find it in a search, as it is jogging like a virus through social media. The trailer video is good enough quality to be worth watching. It definitely looks to be very faithful to the source material, with the sneak peek unfolding very similarly to the beginning of the comic that the Runaways TV series is based on, which should make Marvel fans very happy. It definitely has a bit of a dark vibe to it as well. Oh, and there is some unexpected swearing, giving it an edge.

If you aren't familiar with Marvel's Runaways, the series was written by Brian K. Vaughn starting in 2003 and centers on a group of teenagers who discover that their parents are evil. Most kids think that their parents are evil, but these kids happen to be right. Alex, Karolina, Gert, Chase, Molly and Nico's lives all take an unexpected turn after discovering that their parents are all secretly super-powered villains. Together, they run away from home (hence, the name) and into adventure, vowing to turn the tables on their evil legacy, not wanting to become their parents.

Runaways was originally supposed to be a movie, as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Phase 1. The movie was later bumped to Phase 2 before getting scrapped altogether. Hulu eventually came to the rescue, though, resurrecting the idea as a series. This will be the streaming service's first foray into the world of superhero projects. The show was recently ordered to series by Hulu and the pilot has wrapped production, so we will be getting at least one season of Runaways starting next year. Though, the streaming service has yet to announce an official premiere date.

The central Runaways cast includes Gregg Sulkin (Chase Stein), Ariela Barer (Gert Yorkes), Lyrica Okano (Nico Minoru), Virginia Gardner (Karolina Dean), Rhenzy Feliz (Alex Wilder) and Allegra Acosta (Molly Hernandez). Runaways is being executive produced by series showrunners/writers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, with Marvel's Head of Television Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory also on to produce. Be sure to check out the first teaser, as well as an image that shows the Runaways main characters, for yourself below.
