While fans are still waiting for Netflix to unveil The Punisher premiere date, we have a new motion poster teasing a vast conspiracy building around Frank Castle. These come just a few weeks after The Punisher episode titles were revealed, although there is no indication when Netflix may finally be ready to drop a streaming start date. Until that day comes though, Netflix has also unveiled a ton of new photos giving us a closer look at Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle in his early days, along with the rest of the supporting cast.

The motion poster from Netflix showcases a number of highly redacted documents, which begins with one that reveals a code name, Operation Cerberus. In Greek mythology, Cerberus was the three-headed dog that guarded the gates of the Underworld, but it remains to be seen how this ties into the series. There is also reference to Kandahar, which was mentioned in the second season of Daredevil, where Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle character debuted. It's possible that this Operation Cerberus refers to what took place in Kandahar, with the motion poster also hinting at a "whistleblower," who seems to be the Micro character played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

Whatever happened in Kandahar is apparently deemed confidential, as we can see at the end of this intriguing motion poster. One of these photos appears to be from the Kandahar flashback scenes, since we see Jon Bernthal in full Army fatigues. The images also feature a closer look at the supporting characters such as Dinah Madani (Amber Rose Revah) and Sam Stein (Michael Nathanson), both Homeland Security agents, Curtis Hoyle (Jason R. Moore), Frank Castle's longtime friend, Frank's army veteran friend Lewis Walcott (Daniel Webber), Micro's wife Sarah Lieberman (Jaime Ray Newman), Ben Barnes as Frank's friend-turned-enemy Billy Russo, and, returning from Daredevil, Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll).

After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York's criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone. The supporting cast will also include Shohreh Aghdashloo, who has a recurring role as Farah Madani, the mother of Dinah Madani. While Farah was born as a native Iranian, she has spent most of her life in the United States, and she has established herself as a successful practice as a psychiatrist.

The Punisher 2017 premiere date was confirmed last year, and, along with the launch of Iron Fist and The Defenders, 2017 will be the first year to launch three Marvel Netflix shows in the same year, even though Netflix is still playing coy about the exact date for The Punisher. Steve Lightfoot (Hannibal) wrote the series' first two episodes in addition to serving as showrunner and Executive Producer. Jim Chory (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage) will also serve as Executive Producer along with Jeph Loeb Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage), Marvel's Head of Television. Take a look at the new motion poster, static poster and photos for The Punisher, as we impatiently await word on the series premiere date.
