After Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) was killed off in the 2009 straight-to-video movie Prison Break: The Final Break, most fans were under the impression that would be the last they saw of this beloved character. Those same fans were quite shocked when Fox announced a new Prison Break event series that not only brings Michael Scofield back from the dead, but also reunites him with his brother Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), his wife Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies) and many more characters from the original series. As we get closer and closer to the April 4 premiere, Fox has debuted another trailer with even more new footage.

In the next action-packed chapter of Prison Break, premiering Tuesday, April 4 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on Fox, original series stars Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Sarah Wayne Callies, Amaury Nolasco, Robert Knepper, Rockmond Dunbar and Paul Adelstein are reunited for an all-new adventure spanning the globe. When clues surface that suggest a previously thought-to-be-dead Michael Scofield (Miller, DC's Legends of Tomorrow) may be alive, his brother, Lincoln Burrows (Purcell, DC's Legends of Tomorrow), reunites with Michael's wife, Sara (Callies, Colony, The Walking Dead), and Fox River State Penitentiary's most notorious escapees, Sucre (Nolasco, Telenovela), T-Bag (Knepper, Heroes) and C-Note (Dunbar, The Mentalist) to engineer the series' biggest breakout ever.

The series, which was filmed on location in Morocco, is created by Paul T. Scheuring. The original producing team, including series creator Paul T. Scheuring, Neal Moritz, Marty Adelstein and Dawn Olmstead, will return to executive-produce the new series, with Scheuring serving as showrunner/writer. The original action drama centered on Michael Scofield, a young man determined to save his convicted brother, Lincoln Burrows, from death row by hatching an elaborate plan to escape from prison. Prison Break" was an immediate critical and ratings hit when it premiered on FOX in the fall of 2005, garnering Golden Globe Award nominations for Best Television Series - Drama and Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama (Miller).

The cast for this new event series includes Mark Feuerstein as Jacob Anton Ness, Augustus Prew as Whip, Rick Yune as Ja, Inbar Lavi as Sheba and Paul Adelstein as Paul Kellerman. When it was first announced, it was believed that this series will span between eight to 10 episodes, but an official episode count has not yet been released. Last year, Fox brought back another beloved series, The X-Files with a six-episode limited series, and next month, the latest chapter of the 24 saga will unfold with 24: Legacy, starring Corey Hawkins. If these shows are big hits, don't be surprised if more of your favorite Fox shows from the past aren't eventually revived.

Both Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell currently star on The CW's superhero series Legends of Tomorrow, where they play Captain Cold and Heat Wave, respectively. Last summer, Dominic Purcell revealed that he suffered a massive injury on the set, when a set piece became dislodged and a large iron bar fell on the actor's head. He suffered a broken nose and had two large gashes in his head, which required 150 stitches. With the April 4 premiere date looming large, hopefully we'll have more footage and plot details to share in the weeks and months ahead. Until then, take a look at this new Prison Break trailer below.
