It began with the black plague. Within weeks, the dead began to rise. Hunting for human flesh. Now, the few that are left have only one way to survive. They must bring the fight to them. This February, Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy are going to have to put their life on hold as they battle off a horde of walkers in the exciting thriller Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Today, we have the international trailer, which promises we'll see plenty of gore this Valentine's Day. We also get an epic new poster that brings these monster slayers together in fighting style.

Based on the iconic characters created by Jane Austen, this adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's novel puts a unique spin on a literary classic. In Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, a zombie outbreak has fallen upon the land in Jane Austen's classic tale of the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in 19th century England. Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet (Lily James) is a master of martial arts and weaponry and the handsome Mr. Darcy (Sam Riley) is a fierce zombie killer, yet the epitome of upper class prejudice. As the zombie outbreak intensifies, they must swallow their pride and join forces on the blood-soaked battlefield.

The supporting cast includes Bella Heathcote, Jack Huston, Douglas Booth, Emma Greenwell, Matt Smith, Lena Headey and Charles Dance. Burr Steers (Charlie St. Cloud) directs from his own adapted screenplay, based on Seth Grahame-Smith's novel. Natalie Portman, who was once attached to star early in the development phase, is producing alongside Sean McKittrick, Tyler Thompson, Brian Oliver, Annette Savitch, Allison Shearmur and Marc Butan.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies will hit theaters on February 5, 2016, going up against Universal's Hail, Caesar! and Lionsgate's The Choice. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies had been in development since 2010, with several stars and filmmakers coming and going throughout the process. David O. Russell, Mike White and Craig Gillespie were attached to direct at different times over the past five years, with Anne Hathaway and James McAvoy once eyed to play Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy.

The zombie genre is more popular than ever these days, thanks to AMC's wildly popular TV series The Walking Dead, but the undead genre hasn't had much traction on the big screen as of late. Last month, Paramount's Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse opened with a paltry $1.8 million, debuting out of the top 10 in 12th place, and earlier this year, Maggie, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, took in less than $200,000 during its theatrical run. Can Pride and Prejudice and Zombies reverse the declining zombie trend at the box office? We'll find out in a few short months, but until then, take a look at this latest action-packed trailer and poster.
