Despite Pablo Escobar being killed off in Narcos Season 2, which just had its debut on Netflix, the show will go on. A Season 3 teaser trailer has arrived, promising that new episodes will premiere in 2017. This comes along with news that Netflix has renewed the hit drama series for both Season 3 and Season 4.

Narcos is the true story of Colombia's infamously violent and powerful drug cartels, which fuels this gritty gangster drama series. Narcos is inspired by the true story of Colombia's infamously violent drug cartels and Pablo Escobar's fight to stay the most powerful of them all. The "King of Cocaine" soon learns that narcos aren't known for their loyalty, and Escobar and his sicarios must battle not only the Colombian and U.S. governments, but the people they once knew as friends. Meanwhile, Search Bloc and the DEA seek to destroy the drug cartels with sometimes dubious tactics, creating personal and ethical dilemmas for agents like Steve Murphy and Javier Peña, who are tasked with bringing the drug kingpins to justice.

José Padilha (Elite Squad, RoboCop) and Eric Newman (Children of Men) continue to serve as executive producers of the series. Narcos is produced by Gaumont International Television for Netflix. Seasons one and two of Narcos are available for members to stream instantly in Ultra HD 4k.

Before Narcos Season 2 had its premiere this past Friday, on September 2, Eric Newman teased that the show would definitely 'blow on' as the teaser trailer suggests. It was known before Season 2 even began filming that this would be the last season for main villain Pablo Escobar. Says Eric Newman about how the show will continue on into the future.

"We plan on stopping when cocaine stops. I think there's a reason why we call this show Narcos and not Pablo Escobar. It's very much about the trade. There are other drug dealers and there are alliances formed against Pablo, so there are a multitude of stories we could tackle."

It isn't known when production will begin on these all-new episodes. A releaser date has not been set at this time. But fans can expect the return of Narcos around the same time next year. Narcos Season 3 will most likely arrive in early fall 2017, probably once again in September. No further cast or crew updates have been announced at this time.
