The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel will be back for at least one more season. Amazon has renewed the acclaimed comedy series for a fourth season. The news comes after the recent season 3 debut, which signals the confidence that the company has in the show, which has been an award-winner and critical favorite in its first few seasons.

Few details are currently available as the show only returned on December 6, but this signifies that the numbers were strong. Amazon, much like Netflix, doesn't reveal rating information, so there is no word on how many people tuned in to catch Rachel Brosnahan as Midge Maisel. At present, it's not clear how quickly season 4 will be getting underway. Series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and her writing/producing partner Daniel Palladino had this to say in a joint statement.

"We were thrilled to hear that for the fourth time, we do not have to pack up and vacate the premises. We'd like to thank Amazon for all their faith and support, their partnership and enthusiasm, and for letting us hang with our favorite people, the cast and crew of 'Maisel,' for a little while longer."

The series was recently nominated for two Golden Globes, both in the best comedy series and best actress category, with Rachel Brosnahan earning recognition for her leading role. Through its first three seasons, the show has won 16 Emmys, three Golden Globes, five Critics' Choice Awards, two PGA awards, a WGA award and a Peabody. Season 3 currently holds an 89 percent critical approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with an 82 percent audience rating. Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, had this to say in a statement.

"The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has been a worldwide phenomenon, and Season 3 has been no exception, with the series' most watched opening weekend ever. We're so happy that our Prime Video customers will get to see Midge's story continue in Season 4. Amy and Dan have created such funny, charming, relatable characters, all with their inimitable wit and eye for detail, and our customers around the world will be delighted to have another season in the world of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel."

Season 3 sees Midge and Susie learning that life on tour with Shy Baldwin is glamorous yet humbling, and they learn a lesson about show business they won't soon forget. Joel struggles to support Midge while chasing his dreams. Meanwhile, Abe embraces a new mission and Rose discovers her own talents.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel initially debuted in March 2017 and was met with instant critical acclaim. The cast also includes Alex Borstein, Leroy McClain, Michael Zegen, Tony Shalhoub, Kevin Pollak, Caroline Aaron, Jane Lynch and Marin Hinkle. We'll be sure to keep you posted as more details on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 4 are made available. This news comes to us via The Hollywood Reporter.
