Last month, we reported that Sherlock co-creator and co-star Mark Gatiss signed on for an unspecified role in Season 4 of Game of Thrones. Today, we have word that the actor is playing Tycho Nestoris in the critically-acclaimed HBO series.

The character is a representative for the Iron Bank of Braavos, a lending institution that is legendary in the land of Westeros, since they always reclaim the money that they lend out. Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) revealed in Season 3 that the bank funds the enemies of those who fail to repay the Bank, and that the royal family is in considerable debt to the bank.

The character's inclusion in Season 4 is intriguing, since he was already introduced at this point in the novels the show is based on, written by George R.R. Martin.

Mark Gatiss joins other new Season 4 cast members such as Michiel Huisman, Pedro Pascal (Graceland) as Prince Oberyn Martell and Indira Varma (Luther) as the Prince's lover Ellaria Sand.
