Marvel stars Charlie Cox and Tom Hiddleston had a little bit of fun and flipped the script this Halloween. The Daredevil and Loki stars have been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for some time now, albeit in very different ways. Cox paved the way for Netflix's little corner of the Marvel universe (while it lasted anyway) and Hiddleston has portrayed Thor's ne'er-do-well brother Loki ever since the earliest days of the franchise. This year, the two decided to swap roles and surprise some fans to get into the Halloween spirit.

The actors are both currently starring in a Broadway play together, Betrayal. A very suiting play, we might add, for the actor who plays the God of Mischief. At any rate, both Tom Hiddleston and Charlie Cox decided to go outside after the show recently and they put on their Halloween costumes to amp up the fun factor. Only it was Hiddleston as Daredevil and Cox as Loki. Both of them chose to wear versions of the costumes that best suit the on-screen versions of the characters. And both of them nailed it, based on the photos circulating online.

A video shows them both walking out in costume to the delight of the fans who are outside hoping to meet them. Tom Hiddleston chimed in saying, "I am not Daredevil," which got a big response. Both of them were clearly having a great time, but Hiddleston has a grin painted on his face that simply won't go away. They posed for some photos with other people dressed up as MCU characters as well, with Captain America and Captain Marvel amongst the bunch.

As for where these heroes stand in terms of their respective on-screen futures? Loki met his definitive end in Avengers: Infinity War. However, as we saw in Avengers: Endgame, when the heroes were messing with the timeline, Loki made his escape with the Tesseract at one point. That is going to open the door for Tom Hiddleston to reprise his role once more in a Loki TV series for the Disney+ streaming service. No specific release date has been revealed, but it's set to be included as part of the Phase 4 MCU lineup.

Daredevil, on the other hand, was canceled by Marvel and Netflix after three seasons, as was the rest of the streaming service's lineup of Marvel shows. Charlie Cox and other members of the cast have voiced a desire to return, should the opportunity come up. There are unsubstantiated rumors regarding a possible return for Cox as Matt Murdock in the MCU on Disney+, but Marvel Television is undergoing sweeping changes right now and it seems the future will be far more connected to the movies. So seeing photos like this may be the closest Cox gets to the Man Without Fear again. And he's not even in the suit.
