Back in April, HBO announced a new cast for Season 2 of The Leftovers, with the setting shifting from Mapleton, New York to a small town Texas known as Miracle. Just one month after the first trailer debuted, which showed rapture survivors from allover the country flocking to this small town, the cable network has released a second trailer that gives us more insight into this miraculous town, while introducing us to a few of its residents, primarily, the Parker family, played by Kevin Carroll, Regina King, Jovan Adepo and Darius McCrary

More than three years ago, 2% of the world's population inexplicably vanished. 140 million people, gone in an instant. No country, no state, no city was spared, except for one small town in Eastern Texas. Population: 9261. Departures: Zero. Season 1 stars Carrie Coon, Justin Theroux, Amy Brenneman, Chris Zylka, Margaret Qualley and Christopher Eccleston are returning for The Leftovers Season 2, along with new cast members Kevin Carroll, Regina King, Jovan Adepo and Darius McCrary.

Since Miracle, Texas is seemingly the only city in the world with "zero departures," it's easy to see why survivors would flock to it. It's very clear from this trailer that something sinister is afoot in Miracle, and the trailer's final line, "There are no miracles in Miracle, Texas," could certainly serve as a foreboding warning for the intense treachery to come. The Leftovers Season 2 is being described as a "soft reboot," with some cast members from the first season not coming back, and new additions taking their place in a completely different setting.

The HBO series is created by Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta, who serve as executive producers alongside Mimi Leder, Tom Spezialy and Peter Berg. Production is currently under way in Texas, with the ten-episode second season set to debut Sunday, October 4 at 9 PM ET on HBO with Jarden, Texas. With two whole months between now and the premiere, you can bet there will be more trailers released in the near future, so stay tuned for more footage.

Along with the new trailer, we also have five new photos featuring the Garvey family and the Murphy family. Aside from the Murphy clan, no other cast members and characters have been announced, so we'll have to wait and see if there are any notable guest stars popping up this season. Do you think the soft reboot format will pay off for HBO's The Leftovers? Or do you think it will be a much bigger hit than the first season?
