Kim Raver, who played Audrey Raines on 24 for three seasons, is in negotiations to return for the Fox limited series 24: Live Another Day. Kiefer Sutherland and Mary Lynn Rajskub have already signed on to reprise their roles as CTU agent Jack Bauer and CTU systems analyst Chloe O'Brian.

Audrey Raines was Jack Bauer's inter-agency liasson (and lover) between the CTU and the Department of Defense from Season 4 through Season 6. Although she was never fully killed off, she was left in a vegetative state after being captured by the Chinese government and injected with mind-altering chemicals. This lead to Audrey's father James Heller (William Devane) forbidding Jack from ever seeing her again.

In an interview after Season 6, executive producer Howard Gordon even teased then that Audrey may return at some point.

"Audrey is so not dead. She's not even in a coma. In my opinion, she is at the very worst in a psychiatric facility, but she may also be married to a contractor in Virginia who has a child."

The series will retain its chronological, one-day format, although the 12-episode series will skip over certain hours in the day. The story will take place seven years after the series finale, in an undisclosed international setting.

Today's casting also debunks a statement made by Fox president Kevin Reilly last month, when he said that he believed Kiefer Sutherland and Mary Lynn Rajskub would be the only two 24 cast members to return. That same report also included tweets from executive producer David Fury, who revealed that Mia Kirshner may come back as the female assassin Mandy.

24: Live Another Day is slated to debut in the spring of 2014.
