In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Oscar winning actor Kevin Kline (A Fish Called Wanda) is going into series television for the first time with an untitled hourlong project for HBO.

Kline will star in and executive produce the project, written by David Auburn (Proof).

The show follows about a well respected doctor (Kline). He must start over with his "life after serving a 15-year prison sentence for murdering his mistress."

Producer Gavin Polone and David Auburn came together on the project after Auburn pitched it.

They knew that getting Kevin Kline was a longshot, but when he and Kline's manager Judy Hofflund approached him, he expressed interest. He came aboard shortly after meeting with Auburn.

"It is hard to believe that I'm working with David Auburn and Kevin Kline on a project," Polone said. "I feel like I died and have been reincarnated as Scott Rudin."
