One of the final casting pieces for Game of Thrones Season 4 has come into place, with British actor Joel Fry signing on to play Hizdahr zo Loraq.

The character, who is introduced in George R.R. Martin's fifth A Song of Fire and Ice novel A Dance With Dragons, is described as the "young scion" of an ancient Meereenese family who encounters Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) this season. Meereen is the largest of the three Slaver Cities of Slaver's Bay. Daenerys has already been to the other two cities, acquiring her slave army in Astapor and liberating the city of Yunkai in the Season 3 finale.

Production is already under way on this upcoming season of Game of Thrones. The actor joins a cast of newcomers including Mark Gatiss as Tycho Nestoris, Michiel Huisman in an unspecified role, Pedro Pascal (Graceland) as Prince Oberyn Martell, Indira Varma (Luther) as the Prince's lover Ellaria Sand and Icelandic pop group Sigur Rós in an unknown role.

Joel Fry is best known for his roles in 10,000 B.C. and Tamara Drewe.
