Worry no more about the fate of Snooki and "The Situation". MTV has renewed their hit reality series Jersey Shore for a second season. According to Variety, most of the first season castmates are set to return.

Negotiations have been going on for weeks, with the core cast asking to up their $5,000 per episode salary to $10,000 per episode. The final fee wasn't disclosed, but MTV was quick to make a deal. Jersey Shore has proven to be one of their biggest hits in years.

Season two will kick off this summer with twelve all-new episodes. Production is expected to start shortly. One scenario has the gang escaping the cold weather of the Northeast for a more tropical location.
