The Iron Fist season 2 trailer has arrived. Star Finn Jones was on hand at San Diego Comic-Con, alongside some of his Marvel Netflix co-stars, to tease what's to come in Hell's Kitchen on the small screen at the biggest pop culture event of the year. Since Marvel Studios decided not to show up this year, it was up to Marvel's street-level heroes to bring the goods to SDCC and they did not disappoint. Luckily, they decided to release the Iron First season 2 trailer online after debuting it at the event, as opposed to making us wait.

Marvel has had a lot of success on the small screen. Specifically, the Netflix shows have done quite well for them, which kicked off with Daredevil and expanded to include Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and The Punisher. However, Iron Fist season 1, if there is an outlier in terms of failure, is certainly it. The creative team behind the series is looking to change that narrative with the upcoming season though and they want to give Danny Rand a makeover, in terms of public perception. That started with Luke Cage season 2, in which, Rand makes an appearance during a memorable episode that helped reshape the character for his own upcoming season 2. In some ways, when it comes to something like this, it's good when there's nowhere to go but up.

Scott Buck served as showrunner for the show's first season. However, given the show's less-than-stellar reaction from critics and the lukewarm reception from fans, Marvel decided to change things up a bit for the sophomore season. Raven Metzner, known best for Fox's Sleepy Hollow TV series, is the new showrunner for Iron Fist season 2. Some new blood is exactly what this show needed. Hopefully, that will be enough to turn things around, at least enough to avoid another critical lashing. Danny Rand is a character with a lot of potential and that hasn't changed, despite the unfortunate results of season 1.

The cast for Iron Fist includes Finn Jones as the titular hero. The show also features Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, Tom Pelphrey as Ward Meachum, Jessica Stroup as Joy Meachum, Sacha Dhawan as Davos, Ramón Rodríguez as Bakuto, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, David Wenham as Harold Meachum, and Simone Missick as Misty Knight. Alice Eve has also joined the ensemble for the second season as Typhoid Mary, which was revealed during the show's panel at SDCC. Daughters of the Dragon were also confirmed for season 2.

In addition to Iron Fist season 1, the character also took part in a big crossover event last year in the form of The Defenders, which looks like it was a one-and-done sort of thing. But we can't rule out future crossovers, such as the highly-demanded Heroes for Hire series. But let's not get too ahead of yourselves. For now, you can check out the brand new Iron Fist season 2 trailer for yourself below. The Marvel series makes its (hopefully) triumphant return to Netflix on September 7.
