Netflix has had a ton of success with their Marvel shows, which have focused on some of New York's most notorious heroes not named Spider-Man. Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage have all landed with fans and critics so far and they will unite later this year in The Defenders. Before that happens, they need the last piece of the puzzle, which will be Danny Rand, aka Iron Fist. His series is set to hit the streaming service in a couple of months and now some new photos from the first season have made their way online.

Netflix and Marvel dropped the new images, which included a really epic new banner image featuring Game of Thrones star Finn Jones as Iron Fist. We also get to see Rosario Dawson back as Night Nurse, who first showed up in Daredevil and also had a part in Luke Cage. Carrie-Anne Moss is also featured in one of these new photos as Jeri Hogarth, who she played in Jessica Jones. There are also a couple of nice action shots, one of which features Iron Fist demonstrating his very proficient fighting skills. Here is the official synopsis for Iron Fist.

"Danny Rand returns to New York City after being missing for years, trying to reconnect with his past and his family legacy. He fights against the criminal element corrupting his world around him with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist."

It was recently revealed that John Dahl is directing the first two episodes of Iron Fist, which makes sense, given that he also directed an episode of Jessica Jones. Other directors working on the series include Tom Shankland, Uta Briesewitz, Farren Blackburn, Kevin Tancharoen, Deborah Chow and Stephen Surjik and hip-hop legend RZA. Iron Fist has yet to show up in any of the other Netflix Marvel shows, so fans are very eager to see how Danny Rand fits in with the other heroes from that corner of the Marvel Universe.

The character of Iron Fist first debuted in 1974 and is an expert practitioner of martial arts. He gains his superhuman strength by being able to wield a mystical force known as Iron Fist. He had his own solo series in the comics, but he is very well known for teaming up with Luke Cage in a title called Heroes For Hire, which centered on the two doing good deeds in New York for a profit. There is some hope that Netflix will go that route with Luke Cage season or Iron Fist season 2, but we need to get through Iron Fist season 1 and The Defenders first.

Iron Fist is set to land on the streaming service on March 17, 2017, with The Defenders set to follow later this year. Finn Jones is playing the title character in the series and he will be joined by Carrie-Anne Moss, who is reprising her role from Jessica Jones as Jeri Hogarth. The rest of the cast is rounded out by Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, David Wenham as Harold Meachum, Jessica Stroup as Joy Meachum and Tom Pelphrey as Ward Meachum.
