Fans who are anxiously awaiting the return of Heroes Reborn were given some good news today, as NBC announced that the show will kick off with a two-hour premiere on Monday, September 24. As a result, the Season 3 premiere of The Blacklist will be pushed one week to Monday, October 1 at 9 PM ET. Following the two-hour premiere of Heroes Reborn will be the series premiere of The Player, starring Wesley Snipes, at 10 M ET.

NBC also announced that Heroes Reborn will air its two-hour premiere at the Toronto Film Festival next month. The premiere will be part of the film festival's new Primetime program, which will screen six different TV shows from around the world, with Heroes Reborn set to be the only major broadcast series that will be showcased. Other programs include Jason Reitman's Hulu series Casual, the Argentinian series Cromo, Netflix's Keith Richards: Under the Influence, the Season 2 premiere of the hit French series The Returned and Baltasar Kormákur's Icelandic series Trapped.

From creator/executive producer Tim Kring, who imagined NBC's original critically-acclaimed 2006 Heroes series, comes Heroes Reborn, an epic 13-episode event series that chronicles the lives of ordinary people who discover they possess extraordinary abilities. The series stars Jack Coleman, Zachary Levi, Robbie Kay, Kiki Sukezane, Ryan Guzman, Gatlin Green, Henry Zebrowski, Judith Shekoni, Danika Yarosh and Rya Kihlstedt. With the September premiere getting closer, hopefully we'll hear more about the series soon.

Aside from Jack Coleman, who returns as H.R.G., other stars from the original series are coming back, such as Greg Grunberg (Matt Parkman), Masi Oka (Hiro Nakamura), Jimmy Jean-Louis (The Haitian), and Sendhil Ramamurthy (Mohinder Suresh). The series takes place five years after the events of the original Heroes, and the trailer that debuted at Comic-Con also revealed two more returning cast member, Cristine Rose as Angela Petrelli and Noah Gray-Cabey as Michah.

The trailer revealed that Zachary Levi's character is actually hunting down people with these incredible abilities, with the end teasing a mysterious woman trying to "control" a total eclipse. Fans of the original show know that the main characters gained their powers during a similar eclipse, so that dynamic will be kept intact in Heroes Reborn. Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to the September 24 premiere on NBC.
