HBO to Air Sins of My Father
Variety reports that HBO has bought the documentary Sins of My Father. The film looks at Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar.
The story is told through his son, Sebastian Marroquin, and HBO will air the film in the fall. Marroquin left the country after his father died.
Portions of the film show Marroquin "reaching out to the families who had members killed by his dad and asking for forgiveness."
Sins of My Father will play as an official selection at the upcoming Sundance Film Festival's World Documentary Competition.
"This was done from the inside out," said HBO's Sheila Nevins. "It's really hard to get a father to talk about his son like this."
