HBO has announced that the first episode of the highly anticipated new drama series The Leftovers, which debuted last night on HBO, is now available for viewing on Yahoo Screen starting today through Sunday, July 6. The episode is also now available on multiple U.S. distributor online portals and Free on Demand platforms during the sampling period.

When 2% of the world's population abruptly disappears without explanation, the world struggles to come to terms with what happened. Three years later, The Leftovers is the story of the people who didn't make the cut. Set in a small New York suburb, the intimate family drama focuses on the residents of the fictional town of Mapleton, whose preconceptions are shattered in the wake of a global event dubbed "The Sudden Departure."

Created by Damon Lindelof (Emmy winner for Lost) and Tom Perrotta (Academy Award nominee for Little Children) and based on the novel of the same name, the series stars Justin Theroux, Amy Brenneman, Christopher Eccleston, Liv Tyler,Chris Zylka, Margaret Qualley, Carrie Coon, Emily Meade, Amanda Warren, Ann Dowd, Michael Gaston, Max Carver, Charles Carver and Annie Q. The series is produced for HBO by White Rabbit in association with Warner Bros. Television with Lindelof serving as the show runner.
