Much like other DC Comics TV shows like CW's Arrow and The Flash, Fox's Gotham has been introducing a number of comic book characters early on in its first season, including James Gordon (Ben McKenzie), Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz, Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee), Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Taylor), Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova) and Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith). During a new interview with The Daily Beast, Ben McKenzie hinted that the future Robin, Dick Grayson, and his parents, may be popping up sometime in Season 1.

"The Graysons may appear this season. I'm not 100 percent sure yet, but I think so."

Dick Grayson has his own tragic origin story in the DC Comics. He watched his parents, trapeze artists known as The Flying Graysons, plummet to their deaths after their equipment was sabotaged by local gangsters. Bruce Wayne takes Dick Grayson under his wing and teaches him how to fight, eventually leading to Robin capturing the mob leader who orchestrated his parents' death. After becoming the first Robin, Dick Grayson later struck out on his own as the superhero Nightwing, and eventually takes over the Batman role as well.

Naturally, since Gotham's Bruce Wayne is just a young boy in the series, we may not see Dick Grayson's birth this season, or he could be a newborn when the family is first introduced. Of course, it's possible that they could change Dick's character to be closer to Bruce Wayne's age, but that has not been confirmed. Ben McKenzie also confirmed that Morena Baccarin's Leslie Thompkins will be James' new love interest.

"They just hired Morena Baccarin on Gotham to play my love interest, Dr. Leslie Thompkins, and she said, 'Hey, I did an episode of The O.C.!' and I was like, 'What!?'"

Morena Baccarin signed on as Leslie Thompkins last month, but it was never confirmed that the character will be a love interest of James Gordon until now.
